Football Night in America crew implores Texans to sign Colin Kaepernick
Houston Chronicle ^ | 11-6-2017 | Matt Wyatt

Prior to the Sunday Night Football game against the Raiders and Dolphins, the Football Night in America crew on NBC discussed the Texans' sputtering situation at quarterback, with a couple analysts making the suggestion the team should pick up Colin Kaepernick.

With Deshaun Watson lost for the season due to a torn ACL, analysts Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison called for the Texans to pick up Kaepernick, who has not played in an NFL game since Jan. 1 with the 49ers and has been the subject of controversy due to his decision to protest the national anthem as a response to police brutality toward people of color.

"Sign Colin Kaepernick. You don't have good quarterback play. When you have a mobile quarterback, your offense looks different. There is a mobile quarterback out there to get," Dungy said.

The analysts indicated that the Texans' offense cannot be successful with a traditional pocket passer like Tom Savage at the helm.

"I agree with you. As a player, I would lose all respect for my coaches and my organization if there was a guy out there that actually started a Super Bowl that is better than the guy that we have. How do you have confidence in your coach? How can you trust what your coach is trying to sell, the system that he is trying to sell, when he is not doing everything in his power to win football games?" Harrison added.

“Hi! I’m Tony Dungy and I resent your vast right wing cleanliness!”

I hope some team hires Kaepernick. That would be like bailing water into a sinking ship. I'd get a great laugh out of that.

If the team demand he hire the kaep, do you think that would do the trick? Threaten to not play if he doesn’t do it?

That should help with attendance! ~sarc I lived in Austin in the 90’s. Even in Austin there is a sense of patriotism. Certainly Texas in general. If the Texans take that dbag as quarterback, they can kiss the franchise goodbye.

YES - Hire him!

I want to see a completely empty stadium for his first game. It would be a beautiful exclamation point to the story of the NFL’s insider, tone-deaf, leftist crony-capitalism.

Football Night in America crew implores Texans to sign Colin Kaepernick

The Texans are already in big trouble by taking a knee last week and now Kaepernick as the QB will kill the "Texans" pro football team.

I can’t imagine what could empty the stadium faster. Perhaps a bomb scare.

Will they all stand up and salute the flag during the national anthem if a team does hire Colin Kaepernick?

If he was any good, he’d be playing.

Dungy is a Christian Conservative...

i could see the Texas signing kapernick as a way for their owner McNair to quell the controversy over his non-controversial comments a week ago...
