We will be doing Thanksgiving at the house of friends nearby. We will be bringing the turkey. It will be brined overnight and smoked on a Traeger wood pellet grill using hickory pellets. Total cook time will be around 7 hours.

Do you brine wet, or dry? We did wet for years, and then tried dry and won’t go back. But we do ours in the oven.

I was staring at the Traegers and wondering if they are worth it. We are needing a functioning grill or smoker or something.

Are you going to use a temperature probe. If not get one and stick it in the thickest part of the breast. When it hits 165 degrees the turkey is done.
