Yes, it does sound like the beginning of a mystery best seller! If only I had time to write the other 256 pages! (One day I know I will have plenty of time and I will miss all this craziness)

I just spent 20 minutes ordering Georgette Heyer novels for my mom. It seems they are the best written of that type of historical romance. That woman must have been writing every second of every day.

Heyer wrote mysteries too.

They are an interesting look into that time in British history.

Now in the spirit of those novels....

The English Pumpkin Pie

2 cups roasted pumpkin

1 cup condensed milk

1/2 cup molasses

1/2 cup sugar (optional. add if you like a sweeter pie. I leave it out and it is just fine)

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon ginger (Or quarter cup crystallized ginger chopped really fine)

1 1/2 teaspoon salt

Two eggs

Toss it all into your blender and let 'er rip.

When it is smooth pour into your shell (slightly pre-baked) and bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Start checking at 35 minute to see if it is done.
