I loved the Partridge Family, solely because of Susan Dey. 8>).

I also loved the Monkees, because I had a squirrel monkey at that time. 8>)

But they certainly weren't Jimi Hendrix, Cream, as well as, other bands I was really into to at the time. Now what I really couldn't stand was DISCO!!! Though I would sometimes throw this song into my playlists I would create on cassette near end of the disco craze. Mostly just to hear everyone let out a groan. 8>)

As a matter of fact, he did. The man was a pastor and didn’t drink.
Cassidy is entitled to the same privacy for his medical records as everybody else. He doesn’t owe anybody proof.

Actually my sister taught the little bugger to wash his face. 8>) My dad & I built a big cage with a tiled floor that was so heavy and gangly that I could barely maneuver it out of the basement & up the stairs to wash out bottom of the cage with a hose. I could also let him out the back door and he would play & when he was ready to come back in he would knock on the door. 8>) BTW, the girls loved him, LOL.

Yep. I was reading about Danny Bonaduce’s illness, clicked PatridgeFamily, and ended up here.

I sent the article to my wife thinking it was current news. She is making fun of me now. Shows how much I pay attention to pop culture.

I miss the Partridge Family. Such innocent times when they were on the television back in the early 1970s. I was about 9 years old when they debuted and were on Friday nights with the Brady Bunch.

They did introduce cynicism into my life and I'm not talking about Danny Partridge. No, it had to do with a letter I personally wrote to Reuben Kincaid, manager of the Partridge family.

In it, I expressed my admiration for the band and my earnest desire to join the group. I pointed out that Chris, the drummer, seemed very experienced and that I could be a much better drummer than he.

I then mailed the letter and spent the next few weeks fantasizing about the Partridge Family bus pulling up in front of my house too whisk me away to a life of fame and fortune.

But that was not to be. Instead, I received a form letter back thanking me for my letter and informing me that I was now enrolled in the Partridge Family fan club. Included was the most recent newsletter as well as a glossy photo of Keith Partridge. It was a rejection in the most humiliating manner. I handed the glossy over to my star-struck sister and went on with life a little more jaded than I was before.

Still, I have their albums and listen to their music to this day. While only Shirley Jones and David Cassidy made significant contributions musically, it was happy music and deserves its rightful place in the sunshine pop subgenre, that included The Cowsills, The Poppy Family, The Turtles and The Mamas and Papas.
