Prior to Trump being elected, most celebrities rarely tweeted about politics. If they did, it was usually the occasional tweet about climate change. Their twitter feeds were usually filled with behind-the-scenes photos and updates, project news and promotion and humorous banter.
Occasionally, I check out the twitter feeds of actors that I used to follow before Trump was elected. Actors who regularly interacted with fans and used to share funny stories about their lives have become cold and distant. Many no longer reply to fans, and some barely promote their own projects anymore. Some celebrity twitter feeds are nearly 100% anti-Trump tweets.
What has President Trump done that has hurt these people so much? Gay marriage is still legal, as is abortion. Many of these people are multimillionaires and live the life of privilege. Trump literally hasn't affected their lives in any way. Yet they seem completely unhinged and miserable since November 8, 2016. Why are celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Rosie O'Donnell and others so miserable since Trump was elected? What has he done to hurt them?
When Obama was elected, conservatives accepted his victories and moved on with their lives. So why are actors, who aren't adversely affected by Trump so miserable?
My guesses: 1. They're really not upset. Trump bashing is the new casting couch.
2. They're narcissists. Supporting the losing candidate was a blow to their jumbo sized egos.
3. Someone is telling them to bash Trump (studio executives, producers, publicists, agents).
4. They feel betrayed that he switched parties.
Actors are EXTROVERTS.
They have to emote and yammer forever. They are going to tell you even if you don’t want to hear.
Who hires actors? Who owns the studios?
Follow the money.
On a wider scale, I truly don’t understand the huge hatred of Trump.
There really is no reason to think he’s racist.
There really is no reason to think he’s homophobic.
There really is no reason to think he’s sexist — maybe not perfect, but he’s not Clinton, Franken, Conyers, etc.
I guess they are upset about the judges/abortion side of things and I guess they like cheap gardners from Mexico. But, really, why do they think he’s worse than Hitler?
It’s weird.
I think Hollywood got into politics when super cool Bill Clinton was in office. He invited many celebrities to the White House. They got exposure to him and he got exposure to them, sort of co-branding. Also, it was easier to get lots of donations and positive publicity by pretending that Billy thought they were important to listen to. Hollywood loved being important. They loved being listened to and having the idea that their views actually mattered.
Then, when republicans won the White House, Hollywood was sidelined. There was a line in “Hollywood Boulevard” where washed up film star Norma Desmond said, “I’m still big. It’s he picture that got small.” When Republicans win office the pictures get small. They hate that!
It’s simple. He shows them they’re irrelevant.
Because their publicists said to say that. Cons versus libs are normal distribution.
This is an easy way for them to get attention. Trump is the evil enemy of the Left. Hammering on him is a popular pastime for the liberals since he was elected.
Keep bad-mouthing Trump and you will have plenty of fans and followers.
Yeah I don’t understand it either. And I don’t understand their hatred of people who voted for him.

The 24-hour news cycle needs filler?
To deflect from the lousy movies, plays and music they produce, that’s why they are obsessed.

By 'they' you mean the people who watched every episode of THE APPRENTICE and would have given oral sex just to get on the show ?
Most people, including Hollywood types, seemed to have liked DJT before he became President. They are such hypocrites.

Because in vast part they have a degenerate spirit. And a degenerate spirit cannot restrain the lust to hate. And Trump just happens to be a rationale for that hatred.
1. Because it’s fashionable.
2. They think everyone in Hollywood thinks like they do, which isn’t far off the mark.
3. They don’t have to be told. They like the publicity.
4. They hate who Trump is, not what he’s done.
Because Hollywood has a vested interest in Democrats having power.
They did the same thing with GWB. Alec Baldwin promised to move to France, Hollywierd made a “W” movie that was hardly complimentary, the media bashed him with cartoons portraying him as stupid, the news reported every casualty in Iraq/Afghan, etc., etc....
