Dino-like carcass could be from cat family: Experts
Assistant professor of Zoology at Ramnagar Government PG college, Bhawna Pant, after inspecting the carcass, said that it belongs to a mammalian family. In her report, Pant has written that the lower jaw of the skeleton has sharp and cutting edges, canines are well developed and pelvic girdle and humerus shape also resemble that of a mammal, like a mongoose.
The forest department had earlier contacted Professor Bahadur Kotalia of the department of Geology at Kumaon University in Nainital. In his report, Kotalia said, It is likely that the carcass belongs to the cat family, perhaps that a young mammal. It has a deformed head and unworn teeth meaning that the animal had not begun chewing food.
