And, speaking as a Singer/Songwriter, I have to say that her songs are pretty good! :-)
I prefer a funkier style with more than 4 chords, but her songs have structure, hooks, melodies, and are based on the experiences that many adolescents go through.
She also has spoken to young girls about self-esteem and empowerment, and gives them inspiration.
That is why the left hates her so! If young women grow up with a sense of self-esteem and purpose, they are less likely to fall prey to the cynical, nihilistic, and misanthropic lies of the left.

I was one of Taylor Swift's first fans, going all the way back to 2006. But since I am barely 16 months older it was really easy to relate to her music.
