I read the reviews by people on IMDB, some of the worst reviews I ever read in my life for a movie, some people saying it was so bad that it made them cry LOL!

I don’t understand these movie companies, well Disney I can understand being that it’s run by morons, but how hard is it to get a good script? They’re pouring millions into the picture, if not hundreds of millions, yet they can’t afford to buy a yellow pad and write out a good script? It’s freakin Star Wars! You can do anything in it!
I saw it, meh. Funny was the critic\fanboy disconnect....90%+ on Rotten tomatoes with critics and a middling 50% with actual people who buy the tickets. I speculate, Hollywood and critics who make money of the system are really scared that Amazon\Netflix will put them out of business. They wanted so bad to make this the next Citizen Kane..which it clearly isn’t. The director’s biggest resume bullet point...”Looper”...huh?, an almost direct to video Bruce Willis crapfest made before smartphones or Obama.
Last Jedi is a dog, it’s a hair better then the prequels and much worse than Episode 8 and the the older movies. The humor in the movie actually made it feel like Spaceballs. Please save your money, the movie sucks.
There were one or two problems with the movie but they were FAR outweighed with good/great stuff.
These idiots live to hate things. Like liberals angry at everything, they should be ignored.
I learned long ago that reviews to a new Star Wars movie which are written in the first month are subject to superfan overreaction. Can be way too positive (i.e. stuff like "OMG, this is a masterpeice! Maybe the best Star Wars film ever!" written about the Phantom Menace) or way too negative ("George Lucas raped my childhood with this dreck!").
I'm a casual fan, not that emotionally invested. I wait for fans like me to write reviews, about two to four weeks after release is about when you can really see what's what.
yet they cant afford to buy a yellow pad and write out a good script?
Star Wars movies have scripts? I thought they were just comprised of Harrison Ford with that one expression he emotes with. Is Chewy doing his emoting, now that ol’ Harry’s gone?
Its not that bad, but it does have some very obvious execution issues, but it has a larger concept issue in that it moves away from the good v evil classic narrative into the shades of grey world view... and that will probably cost the franchise long term.
