The Mexican national accused of shooting Pleasanton native Kate Steinle was sentenced today to three years in prison but will not serve any more time in state custody because of credit for time served.

I still see those photos of Bush in a lettuce packing plant and riding shotgun in a border patrol dune-buggy with his signature “what, me worry?” grin in my mind’s eye.
I have to go there a few times a year. Yeah, it’s beautiful, so long as you don’t look under the cover. I’ve never seen such disparity between haves and have-nots. There’s homeless people everywhere. Many that have a home barely get by. Then there’s the rich, the virtue signalling elites...that really don’t give a s**t.
The last time I was in San Fran, hadn’t been there more than an hour, I stopped by a pub, was propositioned by a hooker and saw a person shooting heroin on the street on my way back to the hotel. Madmen shouting at themselves. Zombie looking homeless people. Homeless people that aren’t interested in being given food, only cash...mostly for drugs.
It’s shocking...and I’m from DETROIT.
What a disgrace. Hopefully, it won’t be long before karma catches up with the bag ‘o sh*t.

Can't happen. The Sixth Amendment requires all criminal trials to be held in the state and district where the crime was committed.

My son and his family live north of Pendleton in San Clemente. It’s simply beautiful and the weather can’t be best.
We were out there for 2+ weeks at Christmas and while I did enjoy the temps I got tired of constantly hearing Spanish spoken everywhere. One day as I drove past the high school, which was letting out, I felt like I was in another country.

I’m not sure how lock tight the automatic five years is when committing a crime with a gun in your possession. Hopefully it is. And at the least, this guy’s crime is being in America illegally.
Was the gun not stolen from a federal employee?
The feds should be able to take jurisdiction over more than just the immigration case.
Actually, the feds take jurisdiction over whatever they want.
