DONALD TRUMP'S SPIRITUAL ADVISER PAULA WHITE SUGGESTS PEOPLE SEND HER THEIR JANUARY SALARY (tr)

Donald Trump’s spiritual adviser has suggested that people send her money in order to transform their lives, or face divine consequences.

Paula White, who heads up the president’s evangelical advisory committee, suggested making a donation to her ministries to honor the religious principle of “first fruit,” which she said is the idea that all firsts belong to God, including the first harvest and, apparently, the first month of your salary.

Ok thank you for the link. This verifies that she is not asking everyone in general to give money to her ministry in particular--as some people are taking in this discussion based on the article.

She seems like a typical mega-preacher with her over emphasis on tithing for personal reward. But that is about the extent of her faults it seems.

Although, I also am disappointed in her misuse of one of my favorite authors, CS Lewis...who does encourage charity and giving for Christians, but did not have her take on it when she emphasizes the Old Covenant "First Fruits" concept so much, and to make it worse laces her language with more than a hint of finical consequences. Jesus said to not let your left hand know what your right hand was doing...and to give out of love...but this kind of emphasis seems to be giving out of greed.

But, also it is not Christian to slander someone, and I think the article slanders and exaggerates in its headline. If not explicitly, implicitly.

I don’t give her an ounce of importance. Never heard of her before today. Trump gives her too much importance. His prerogative.

You are extremely obtuse.

“Republican candidate Donald Trump has released a long list of his born-again advisory board.
Some of the 25 figureheads on Trump’s board have relationships with him that go back several years.

Paula White, Florida preacher and televangelist
Who she is: Paula and her former husband Randy White founded Without Walls International, a Tampa megachurch which grew to 25,000 members over 15 years. In 2007, the couple separated as the church underwent a US Senate investigation. Later, White and televangelist and faith healer Benny Hinn admitted their friendship had turned inappropriate following her divorce, though White denied having an affair with Hinn. She is now married to former Journey musician Jonathan Cain and leads New Destiny Christian Center, a multi-ethnic congregation outside Orlando. Her popular TV show also draws in a racially diverse viewership, airing both on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and Black Entertainment

Her evangelical ties: White is among America’s most well-known prosperity gospel preachers. While 17 percent of American Christians openly identify with the movement, the “health and wealth” gospel gets dismissed and critiqued by most mainstream evangelical leaders. White admires fellow televangelist T. D. Jakes, whom she considers her mentor in the faith. She has appeared alongside leaders such as televangelist Kenneth Copeland, New York pastor Chris Durso, Lakewood worship leader Israel Houghton, and Jesus Culture singer Kim Walker-Smith.

Her Trump ties: White says she and Trump have been friends for 15 years, and recounted giving him a letter from Billy Graham for his 60th birthday. At the meeting in Trump Tower last year, White cited Isaiah 54 in praying that “any tongue that rises against him will be condemned.” She also spoke at a 10,000-person rally in Florida, telling the crowd that Trump “needs to be our next president.”

You have zero idea of what Trump “gives” her. You have read some internet pieces and assume them to be true. Be very careful because Trump is more than able to be around people without them influencing him.

Eg. The former CEO of Breitbart

She’s a con artist; everybody knows that. No better than Jim Bakker. As for DJT’s spiritual advisor, I believe he relies more on Jeffress and Graham.

..Title is very misleading as Paula White isn’t his spiritual advisor rather she ‘heads an evangelical committee’....vastly different than stating she’s a spiritual advisor. Though I understand she likes to be noted and recognized for far more than she is.

So the heading itself would be an indicator to me it’s a false article.

Author Harriet Sinclair is basically a low end journalist with articles framed/twisted to discredit the administration.

Paula White is a 3 times married prosperity ‘gospel show’.... owns multimillion-dollar homes in Trump Tower and Florida...with a long history of bankruptcies, failed business ventures, and unsuccessful marriages...her church has been investigated by the U.S. Senate for operating a scam, that followers who donate money, or a “seed,” to the church will see their investment returned many times over.

What does it say about all the evangelical leaders who willingly serve on a council headed by Paula White?
