Some criticisms of the M27 IAR I’ve read.

- Heavier by 2 lbs.

- Bolt life only around 9,300 rds.

- Not completely trusted acting as an LMG. M249 will be still be kept at the company level. M27 is at squad or fire teams.

- Parts not made in the USA.

- Marines have switched to the M855A1 that is hard on barrel life. M27 is already a costly weapon - going to make maintenance costs very high.

Buy American!

POTUS or SECDEF needs to stop the procurement!

Don’t talk about high maintenance costs. remember what that P.O.S. Mcnamara did trying to save 50 cents per M16 by not chroming the bores. Alot of G.I.s in Viet Nam were found dead with a cleaning rod stuck down their barrels trying to get a stuck case out. That’s what I call a high maintenance cost. If it cost’s $500 a year to replace barrels I’m all for it if our Jarheads can out gun any enemies foreign or domestic.

“not made in USA” should be deal breaker. Parts access is always mission critical.
