It’s worrisome, because being grounded in truth and reality is a conservative’s ONE single political advantage - so sad to see it being squandered so that a few people can feel like they’re solving the daVinci Code.
Donald Trump tells the unvarnished truth: That terrorists tend to be Islamic. That blacks and Hispanics commit a disproportionate amount of crime. That a nation needs borders to be a nation. That there is a biological difference between male and female. That the federal government is way too big, powerful, stupid and expensive. That for half a century we have been screwing ourselves in foriegn policy regarding defense, aid, trade, “climate change”, and immigration. That competition and prosperity are good things. That individual liberty is a good thing. That the “news” is fake. That the Democrat Party and the Republican Party are mostly corrupt theives and liars who put their own interests ahead of the interests of their constituents.
Trump is the only politician with the balls to tell the truth about these things and it’s what got him elected (barely) - because there are still (just barely) enough conservatives that want to hear the truth and face reality.
Conservatives got real lucky when DJT decided to throw his hat in the ring and run as a politically incorrect truth-teller.
It’s worrisome to see Trump supporters here on FR throwing aside that one strength in order to play fantasy football with politics.
