Money represents value/wealth/productivity. In the USA, you can usually trade US$1 for a buck’s worth of something - and there’s plenty of stuff to trade for.
“Palestine” (the “occupied territories” nobody else wants) boasts a GDP of $13.4B, produced by 4,550,000 people ... about US$3000 per person per year.
We could consider that any money being used for an individual to operate at/below the poverty line is not durable. We’re talking money spent almost entirely on consumables (food eaten, clothing/shelter with no resale value). Result: money passed on represents ... nothing.
That...doesn’t seem like enough to actually operate their own currency. A Pali$1 would have too little to trade for.
