Anybody watch WACO part 1 on Paramount (formally Spike)?

I did record it and will watch it this weekend. On the new Paramount Network which was Spike TV, channel 241 on Direct TV and maybe Dish too. That actor did look like Koresh from the previews.

Yeah. We thought it was the one we saw adverts for but realized that's on a&e or history. We may watch both to bounce them against each other. We were kinda surprised to see that Koresh convinced the men that he would lift the "burden" of intercourse from them so they could clear their minds... That would have put me out right there. But think about Jim jones and his ability to take people in. 😹🍿🍻

Obviously Koresh was way off track. However, thinking back to when this was happening, I could not rationalize that BJ Clinton and his weird Attorney General would find it necessary to obliterate them all. I recall that there had been a lot of dialog between the government and Koresh’s group up to that time.

It will be interesting to see how my general impressions from 20 years ago hold up.

I remember being home from work sick when they burned Waco to the ground and killed the Branch Davidians alive.

Janet Reno has a special place in Hell reserved for her. Not just for this but Ruby Ridge, Elian Gonzalez (I will never forget the images of a SWAT team dragging a child out of a closet at the behest of the Department of Justice.) and who knows what else I have forgotten.

The ATF has always been a cluster. I have no respect for that organization and likely never wil. Bunch of hopped up wanna be soldiers. It’s like giving full auto weapons to a weekend air soft team..

When I grew up I always thought the FBI where like really cool good guys. Such as the the untouchables taking out the mob anyway they can. Today everything they touch is corrupted. Completely rogue organization.
