I don't know much about big wild cats but this part surprises me; (they) "also face threats from larger predators like wolves and bears". I'm picturing king kong taking on godzilla and wondering why either one would bother getting hurt when there's too much food to go around already.

Unless I'm just plain wrong neither wolf nor bear is going to easily defeat mr. cougar and have it for dinner.

Wolves and bears try to take kills from cougars, cougars don’t like giving them up.
