“We collect rainwater from the roof and put it into a swimming pool to use for the dry months.”
I have a rain barrel near a downspout for roof water to drain, with an inserted diverter in the downspout to switch to the rain barrel to collect the water. I let the first dirty water from the roof continue to drain through the downspout, until that dirty part is gone, then switch it to the rain barrel. I have four plastic blow up kid’s pools to put in the back to collect rain water.
All this is for emergency water. I have a Big Berkey water purifier to turn all that water into good drinking water or cooking water, etc. If I have plenty of good water from other sources, I can use that collected water for growing plants.
These townhouses have a swimming pool and it’s close to my townhouse. I could use that water for plants or put it through the Big Berkey to drink/cook/whatever.
I’ll write about a Silcock key everyone should have in his/her car for emergency water.
Good Deal. Thanks.
