It’s an intriguing concept and makes it cheaper to practice, but you won’t enjoy the same high velocity as a rifle round.

They have made these for awhile, there was a prior version pc carbine they made in both 9mm and 40 cal that work with the pistol mags. check gunbroker.

I have enjoyed Ruger products since the early 70s

It’s like a Cummins diesel or a nubile tan blonde in a body glove thong bikini or Led Zepplin IV

Some things are just dependable and you have faith in them

I have the cheaper Hi-Point version and like it well enough. As always better capacity mags are the key.

Looking forward to getting one. Why not?

The old Ruger “PC” stood for “Police Carbine”, then they stopped making them. I’m not sure what the new “PC” stands for. Practical Carbine? Very practical.

I love pistol-caliber carbines. Mine are lever guns except for a Marlin Camp-9. That piece is a great little rabbit getter for cottontails and jacks. Very smooth, no appreciable recoil.

Threaded? Take-down? Glock mags? Fine for home defense, varmints, and all around fun shooting. I’m a Veteran, don’t like loud noises. Put a can on that son of a gun and I’m happier!

Even in 9mm I’m looking forward to putting this in the truck backpack.

My question???? Where’s the .45???

I’ll buy one of those for sure. And a .40. Duh.

To: Reno89519; All

If I can find one, I’ll buy it tomorrow so that we can try it out Sunday. Gonna need to buy another gun safe soon.

My thought is that I want one. I like the concept of being able to share ammunition and magazines with my pistol. That, and Ruger quality has never let me down.

Talked with the Ruger rep at the SHOT show. they well be making 9mm for awhile then think about the others.

Wish they would have went with a lock breech instead it could have been made a lot lighter.

I’m partial to the Keltec Sub 2000. Folds to 16”. Comes in 9mm or .40.
Can get them in several varieties of pistol mags, Glock, Beretta, S&W.....

I have one of the discontinued PC9 carbines. Nice little weapon. The rubberized stock is heavy enough to be a weapon in its own right.

You forgot to mention the most interesting aspect of the Ruger PC Carbine, other than the Glock magazine adapter. It is a takedown in the style of the Ruger 10-22 Takedown:

The room you’re sitting in has wood paneling, doesn’t it ?

Haven't seen or touched one myself, however IMO it might be useful to have so long as one understands its limitations. I would expect almost 0 recoil. One thing I like about it is the breakdown feature.

9mm is probably the most common pistol round in use these days, so one could get ammo at any WalMart in Podunk, Oklahoma.

Yes, Ruger has made something like this in the past so a person might save a few bucks by checking gunbroker, etc.

Interesting perspective. I agree. I can definitely say that my Redhawk and a Cummins are comparable.

I just wish you could put optics on it and still fold up.

Not sure why I need a gun that is as big as a rifle, weighs the same as a rifle, is as expensive as a rifle, but shoots a pistol cartridge. I like that it will take std capacity mags but so do my pistolas.
