The bigger question is why?. Why did the US Navy stop its rail gun project? (did it?) Is the technology flawed? Or did they come up with something better? There must be a good reason

The results are too little for the money expended compared to more conventional advanced weapons.

Last I heard the gun worked but they had no useable projectiles or something along those lines.
