Pretty much. It doesn’t fit the Left’s desire to see this driver rejected by fans and drivers because of his race, so the multitude of NASCAR fans who care more about how he drives than the color of his skin (and thus belie the Leftist/Media caricature of NASCAR fans) will likely be ignored or minimized.
In college they called him the little bull dog.
There is a little history and irony in this thread. I began to post a memorial to Dale Earnhardt on the anniversary of his death in 2001, with his bio from Wiki which was zotted. I then attempted to post an ‘open’ thread on Daytona just for updates as the race progressed. Doing research, the Bubba Wallace info showed up with the Richard Petty connection. As a long time Petty fan, I decided to use it.

Not the way it’s being presented. They will be forced by the media to flock because he’s black, well, half black anyway. And no one on the media is pushing that angle, are they?
He mentioned in the article he wanted to be the Tiger Woods of NASCAR. Why couldn’t he settle for the next Richard Petty, or Daryl Earnhart. And since Woods is pretty much only selling the logo on the bag, he’s not even the Tiger Woods of anything. Just another top 25 golfer. Even Wallace is trying to hype this thing up and that lacks class like Sharpton or Jackson. The sport will never be equated with genius or scholars, just beer drinkers and good ol’ boys. But why try to harm it.

Saw an interview with him at the time. He seemed like a great guy. (when he wasn’t punchin out other drivers!)
Bubba Wallace dad is a white man. I always thought your race was what your father is. Bubba’s old man is as white as snow. I’ll bet he gets damn tired of being referred to as a “African-American.” The other drivers know him as a damn good driver, not a damn good black driver.
Liberals are obsessed with race. They are the racists seeing everything through the lenses of race first.
