Thanks, there are a lot of article about the record number of seal indictments, but if you saying there are 80,000 a year then it’s not a record amount.
Not all indictments are sealed. Relatively few are.
It’s not easy to count sealed indictments until long after the fact. The number of sealed indictments outstanding is conjecture based on missing docket numbers, and federal courts do not all use the same method of recording indictments. Current numbers are conjecture.
