The slip in NBC's ratings have caused tension at the network and even Lester Holt's position at NBC Nightly News is reportedly in jeopardy.
ABC's World News Tonight with David Muir passed Holt in overall audience during the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, causing some top NBC executives to sweat.
Sources told PageSix that if Holt's stats were ever to get the point that the network needed to make a change in the anchor's chair, NBC would be in a major bind.

It is all of that. Plus I have seen more Curling than I ever wanted to. Shuffleboard on ice. Now I understand the huge crowds around the shuffleboard table down at the pub. Worse Olympics ever and that is saying something. At least I got to learn about Katie Curic’s Olympic pin collection.
Makes one feel like Seneca at the court of Nero.
It used to be that women’s figure skating was “gold” but this new scoring that encourages attempting super athletic jumps and doesn’t penalize much for falls has me feeling like I’m watching practice instead of a performance.
We don’t tune in for practice.
Also agree about the freak show commentators. Freaks have to resort to more and more bizarre appearance and behavior to get attention. If we want that, all we have to do is watch videos of the typical tard protest.
I lost interest in the NBC commentators who think it is about them.
Have any athletes from any other country instulted their leadership or kneeled when their anthem was played? Just wondrin’.
Even if I want to watch an event NBC makes it really, really hard to find it at any time when I can actually watch.
I used to really like to watch the Winter Olympics. I do not live in an area that gets snow, so I always liked watching events like skiing, bobsled, etc. I got so turned off before the games started with Vonn’s comments and coverage of the skating drama queen queen that I just decided it was another sport that has “gone NFL” and decided to pass on it.
Q: What’s green and skates on ice?
A: Peggy Phlegm.
I had no interest, but my wife did and she said NBC’s coverage was horrible, jumping around, making it all but impossible to track an event.
I turned it on last night when they were doing the four-man bobsled. I figured that these were manly men and safe to watch. The commentator said that one of the bobsledders had a high social conscious because he flew to many sporting events and to offset his carbon footprint, he and his family planted 1000 trees on their farm, I think in Canada. Off goes the channel. Then, I look at my local online newspaper this morning and they have a picture of the two poofters who saved a dog from a death farm. I cant take it any more. When are the Olympics over?
