The prints in the snow resembled hooves.

There are wild boars in the Pine Barrens.

The sightings weren’t in the pines. Burlington, haddonfeild, collingswood. Places close to Philly and well west of the pines. And the witnesses said it flew off, boars don’t fly. Mass delusions happen, could have in that case. But usually now spread over such a wide area. A curious series of incidents.
