“Permanent weight loss without bariatric surgery is practically impossible at the population level.”
but not for someone with motivation. I’ve lost 25 pounds on a HFLC diet since last September, with 15-20 more to go.
and besides the failure rate with bariatric is about 50% by five years out ...
Yep. Just telling people the truth and not subsidizing drug alternatives should get most of them there.
We’ve given them diabetes-worsening advice and diets for decades.

Bravo my friend. Way to go! Keep it up!
I started the Keto diet around 2 weeks ago with my friend who wanted a little motivation except I decided to go cold turkey on my ban of sugars and carbs. It’s been tough but I feel great. Ive always worked out everyday, both cardio and weight training and don’t really have a problem with weight, I just want to tone up and be healthy. I had no idea I was taking in so many refined sugars and carbs every time I ate. Actually, I did and just kinda chose to ignore it because Im already pretty active.
They mean "the population of the United States," rather than "a population of one."
It absolutely works but it is a very hard diet to stick with because no matter how many KETO recipes I see on YouTube they all taste like cr@p.
The simplest way is to eat nothing white except crème. But it gets old no matter who you are.
