It could only launch an ICBM from a towed launcher and it’s also a diesel without the range (unless it was towed itself and picked up the towable launcher).

Possible, but I don’t think that was the country mentioned, but I really don’t remember. A sub is just one of several scenarios that could explain it.

There were several allegations of witnesses etc. Sort of like TWA 800 witnesses, but we may never know for sure what happened.

The thing that gripes me, is that foreign intelligence agencies probably all know for sure what happened, yet Am. Citizens are kept in the dark.
