With the Masters starting in just three weeks, the oddsmakers favorite to win the green jacket is now Tiger Woods. These odds are for the 2018 Masters, to be clear.
The move into solo position with the lowest odds for Augusta came on Thursday morning. Woods had an 8:23 a.m. ET tee time at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and he’s spent much of the morning sharing the lead at Bay Hill. Woods went out with a 3-under 33 on the course’s back nine, his best opening nine score at this event since 2007.

Between the announcers and the idiots that feel the need to be the first one to yell after every shot, golf has become unwatchable on TV anymore. So annoying.

I like the “new” Tiger as well—he is gutting it out now—nothing is easy any more.
But—the announcers gushing over Tiger Tiger Tiger—that is what threatens to make golf unwatchable again...
Augusta gets refurbished after every Masters. But that was called Tiger Proofing.

Spieth is in a slump. He’s one of those who always refer to “we” when talking about how he played, especially if he won. As in “we hit the right shots today. “We putted really well” etc. referring to himself and his caddie. I’d like to see him let the old ego go and start saying “I” did this and that. After all, he is the only on holding the club that hits the shot. It’s nice to recognize contributions of his “team” but he’s the one generating the bucks that make their lives comfortable.
I am glad to see Tiger has gotten a lot of his game back. I saw last weeks tournament where his improvement of late was on display, even though he did not win.
Yet, I fail to see why anything thinks claiming he is the “favorite” to win the 2018 Masters. Such a claim assumes too many things not in evidence about Tiger or many other players.
With all due respect to Tiger, the report title feeds like something from a public relations firm working on behalf of Tiger.
Smart people ought to put their crystal balls aside and just let the season find its own result.
Back to what? He's in his 40s and hasn't won a major in a decade. That he's the favorite is absurd.

I would never do that...I always cheer AGAINST him. I bet I shouted miss at the TV, 10 times every time he addressed the ball last Sunday. I was a happy camper when he finished at 18.
I did the same....”miss...miss....miss”....and close my eyes and waited for the response...It was really kind of silly....but he aggravates me.
I’ll bet a $100.00 donation to Free Republic that Woods does NOT win the Masters..
?? he should have been DQ’d, instead he was assessed a 2 stroke penalty, plus the stroke penalty on the water ball is 3 strokes in penalties...he lost by 4. or am I missing something ?

Sam Snead was the cause of croquet putting being outlawed on the green plus the putter now had to have a shaft angle other 90 degrees.
The golfers who are in Tiger’s 4-some, will have to contend with the hoard and the roar, which they haven’t seen or heard in years.
Should be interesting to watch, cause we’ll be back to all Tiger all the time.
