Interesting how a low tech cheap plane could reek havoc initially during the onset of a war with North Korea. I hope I can trust that our leadership has thought of this and has counter measure to prevent or limit the damage that could potentially occur.

As a disclaimer, the Antonov AN 2 is one of my favorite planes. I'd own one if I had the money and was a pilot. Or if I had the money to hire a pilot.

I wouldn't describe this biplane as "chunky".

It's hugh!

After reading the first paragraph, I thought the author of this claptrap is a brainwashed idiot. Then I reach his bio and it removed any doubts :
“Sébastien Roblin holds a master’s degree in conflict resolution from Georgetown University and served as a university instructor for the Peace Corps in China. He has also worked in education, editing and refugee resettlement in France and the United States.”

On Guadalcanal dad spoke of “Washing Machine Charlie”. A beat up old Japanese plane with a single bomb that flew over at night with its noisy old engine whose primary purpose was to keep the marines up at night.

Then hollyweird came up with “5 o’clock charly “

Is this the best we’ve got for scare porn to justify a war with NK?

This is retarded.

Modern computer backed RADAR, phased antenna arrays, this would immediately be known, probably down to the serial number on the motor.

And don’t forget the warhead itself sitting in the middle of a fabric plane.

No, just more fear porn for the clueless, in an effort to gin up a war. And a lame excuse if SK gets nuked. Samsung is a powerhouse when it comes to computing power, signal processing and automated systems. I don’t buy it, not even for a second.

Yeah. I remember that episode. Probably watched it with my dad back in ‘62. That’s probably when he told me the story

There was a tale passed around by the marines of one poor guy who used to sleep in a hammock he made between two palm trees. After an air raid he decided not to hit the shelter and they found a huge crater between the two trees. True story of Guadalcanal, though probably one the brass made up to make sure the guys went into the shelters.

He's a Liberal. Brilliant beyond any measurement. Just ask him, and he'll tell you.

How could any thug soldier match his intellect?

When it comes to war fighting, libtards know best. Obama’s track record is testament to that.

Then along come President Trump and Mad Dog. Fifteen minutes later, ISIS in Iraq is obliterated.

Go figure.

McHale's Navy "Washing Machine Charlie" [Season 1, Episode 22]

MASH had a "5 O'clock Charlie" episode as well.

Season 2 Episode 2

Every day for the past six weeks, at 5:00 o'clock p.m. on the nose, a North Korean "washout from Kamikaze school" has let loose a bomb in the general direction of the hospital's sub-ammo dump. Very affectionately known as "Five O'Clock Charlie," the only thing he hits on the nose is the time.

Yeah. And so did black sheep squadron.

The real washing machine Charly was over the South Pacific. There was a bedcheck charley, a German who flew over US forces in Europe , doing the same sort of thing.

There may have been one over Korea. The leftist tv show mash did make up a bunch of crap. Can’t tell the real from the propaganda.

They have the antique planes but how many can still actually fly? Seals dry out, parts rust, I wouldn’t want to be a pilot.........

An-2’s were used by the Russians against the German columns moving into Moscow at night. German guy I worked with in 75 said when he was in the German panzercorps it was the most feared weapon they faced at the time.

Far worse than Washing Machine Charlie, which was apparently a reconnaissance plane, was Louie the Louse, a plane that dropped flares at night. After Louie dropped his flares, a bombardment by nearby Japanese warships would follow.
