Now we know the crime. What of the history?
About 30 years ago Minneapolis (my home town) had a liberal Democrat police chief (Tony Bouza). In a downtown altercation, a Minneapolis cop shot and killed a petty criminal who had a history of about half of his life in jail for such crimes as purse snatching.
Our media (Mpls Start/Tribune and St. Paul Piomeer Press plus the local broadcast news around the edges) were aghast at such police brutality. I don't remember that the cop we ever charged with anything.
Remember, Bouza was a LIBERAL Democrat. He said, "Look at it this way. Just know how many space invading crimes will now be avoided between now and the time this dead clown would have approached retirement age." He supported his cop. Today, that cop could plan on a lengthy prison sentence for murder.
Was Williams a career criminal? If not, I would really need to know how the defense attorney convinced the jury that Williams needed to die and it was a good thing.
