On more than one occasion, I've been admonished to not question scientists. They are objective and devoted to the discovery of facts; ergo, above reproach and beyond contestation.

In my humble observation, however, every branch of science is populated by fallible human beings as subject to error and temptation as even a fool like me.

Who else could they be? The scientific method takes this into account and tries to minimize it. Seeing the fantastic technology that surrounds us, I’ll give science the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. The lingering of such nonsense as astrology makes you wonder how we ever got past alchemy, though.
