Price of gas is going up 1 April and this is not an April fools joke. This is a CA Sales tax increase. I propose to reduce the shock of high gas station price postings, stations need to start posting gas in quarts? $3.79/gal would now read .95/quart. Whatcha think?
Gas now 35cents per gill.
Ethanol extra.
Ration card citizen?
Regular is $1.20 per litre in my part of Canada today, and we’re not the highest. That’s about $4.00 U.S. per American gallon (yes, the British/Imperial gallon is larger than yours by 20%)
On trampolines...
The tax is posted on every pump.
“Aren’t you old enough to remember when the price of gas first hit $1/gal?”....
Hell, I’m old enough to remember when we paid $0.13 per gallon back in the early 50’s,. Sure would be nice to see those prices again before I leave this world.
1967 California gas was.25/gal, during
the gas wars some discount stations were
charging .18/gal. Dad had a ‘59 olds
Delta 88. Cost about $4.00 to fill it.
I remember when my dad was stationed at Chanute AFB in Illinois, the locally owned gas station would give you credit. That’s the first credit I ever had. Paid it off every week! I think it was in the neighborhood of $7 or $8 a week!
Methinks Shell, Exxon Mobile BP and others should stop selling their “harmful” products in CA. That way they won’t be sued for climate change global warming whatever.

Santa Barbara? And what about the PIPELINE? Donald lets get things moving.
“Show the price per litre. Just like the rest of the world.”
I recall somewhere around the mid 1970’s they announced the US would move to begin transfer to the metric system and schools devoted time during the whole year to teaching us to get used to it.
Never heard another world about it after that school year.
In Canukistan gas and diesel are measured in $/liter.
It’s obnoxious, and a stupid idea.
Viewer of pic on Pinterest ID's the place as Sears Valley Plaza, North Hollywood California.
Well, there is quite a disparity in prices across the country but right now, a typical price in Ontario is $1.26 a litre. http://www.ontariogasprices.com/ ....don't be fooled by some of the lower prices at the top at the link. Those are on native reserves who have a deal on the price of gas. There are 3.785 liters in a U.S. gallon. and right now the currency exchange rate is that a CDN $ is worth $0.7754 U.S. $. Working you way through that math yields the price of gas being $3.70 per gallon in U.S. $.
I think you have been in Europe. They price gas by the liter. I would keep priced by the gallon lest they raise the price further.
The US is inching toward the metric system but we’ve got miles to go. :=)
Thanks.
I remember 29 cents a gallon in the sixties. Long before I could drive. There were three gas stations of the four corners of major cross streets all over the place in So. Cal. Then there would be “Gas” Wars and the price would drop a couple more cents.
Then the give aways... drinking glasses, cheap steak knives.
and why would conservatives want to fool people? let the price stand, as ugly as it is, and make it a campaign point in state races
“High” gas prices? Today a gallon is $2.17 in OKC, $2.24 in Houston, $2.27 in NOLA, $2.34 in Omaha... just a decade ago, we were paying $4.11
England does this using liters to make gas look cheaper.
The larger price seen per gallon would be better to remind all who is stealing money from us.
