I had the good fortune to meet Alice Cooper in the eary '70's. A regular down-to-earth fellow, aside from the fact he was an entertainer that is. His recent remarks with regard to Glenn Campbell are very moving. Not everybody who enters the business is destroyed by it.

At one of the many times I went to Louisville to see bands in the 60's.The Beach Boys were there. We waited an hour for the show to start.

When someone finally stepped onto the stage it was a greasy hair young boy with a guitar. People booed horribly. This boy introduced himself as Glenn Campbell. The boos didn't stop. I felt sorry for this guy doing the opening act. He finished playing. (At the time I really thought he lacked talent)

Remembered it only because of the complete antithetical nature of the two personas...

I once read Alice Cooper used to go golfing regularly in Scottsdale with his good friend David Cassidy.
