Yes. Within the Walking Dead universe is a “spiritus mundi” that longtime viewers share. They’ve seen it all. The zombie theme might seem endlessly interesting, but it’s not. The writers finally become boxed in, and all they have left is shuffling the deck chairs.

Show runner Scott Gimple is out now, and has described the end of season eight as the end of everything in the series up until now. If that is true, then season nine will be radically different. I hope they get beyond zombies and petty fights and start rebuilding the world, I have wanted to see that for a long time.

It’s way! Just send the show in this direction.

They find a cure for zombieitis. They then have to build society and reintegrate the cured zombies back into society. I see endless shows regarding prejudice against ex-zombies. Shows discussing “living privilege” and how it hinders ex-zombies in advancing themselves.

We know that Morgan survives to go to "FTWD." Everyone else seems expendable.

BTW, what happened to Dwight at the end of the last episode?
