A 61-year-old Louisville, Ky., man was sentenced Friday to life in federal prison for transporting dozens of illegal immigrants in a scorching hot tractor-trailer, after which 10 people were found dead inside the truck last July, according to the Justice Department.
U.S. District Judge David A. Ezra of San Antonio sentenced James Matthew Bradley, Jr. to life in prison without parole, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Friday afternoon. Bradley had faced the death penalty.
Shortly after midnight on July 23, San Antonio police responded to a call from the Walmart on Interstate 35 and found the tractor-trailer behind the store. Police found Bradley asleep in the cab and 39 illegal immigrants in a trailer that did not have a working air conditioning unit.
Of the 39 people found in the truck, eight were found deceased and two later died from injuries sustained from being in the overheated trailer for a prolonged period. About 20 people were in serious condition and eight others who were diagnosed at the scene with heat stroke and dehydration were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

So life in prison was preferable to the fate that awaited him if he had given up folks up the organizational chain from him?
Or is it that the DOJ didn’t want to work up the chain?
Our politicians and multiculturalist elites and those who would take OUR rights (guns, freedom of speech etc) much prefer importing docile people. They want immigration by those who have a long term culture that will accept corruption and never fight to preserve freedoms.
American citizens with an historical long term legacy culture have DNA of freedom and the elites want that changed.
It should be an automatic 30 years in prison if caught smuggling humans on either the north and especially the southern border.
Our govt needs to go after these people with a vengeance. They are the ones who know and exploit the best locations of egress to penetrate our country’s border.
I think this would effectively curtail the movement of women and children and especially OTM.

Well it’s obvious they don’t and ‘easier’ to get here where they can claim Asylum with all the perks. Thanks to ‘free’ cellphones/computers being distributed to 3rd world countries the people can “see” and know what’s available here, map out their path and what to do when they get here to get the handouts. Easy peezy!......But to fight in their country...not even in their minds.

A start would be to ‘enforce’ the laws we have on the books already! Unfortunately Dems have long known sending ‘organizers’ to 3rd world countries to organize ‘mass’ groups to converge on our border will overwhelm the border control currently in place. So they get in one way or another.

The man knew the risk....at his age I suspect he’s been doing this for a long while without getting caught...and likely as well from an organized group that brings them here.
Another reason people from 3rd world countries get here.

I disagree because ‘a better life’ is way to broad of language and surely not sufficient reason to have them here. They need to build and fight for their own countries.....they are unwilling to do so when the Dems and Open border people tell them they have a “right” to be here, and then put out the red carpet in Sanctuary cities.
I don’t have any problem with throwing him in prison - he was guilty of homicide. But they need to squeeze him to rat on the rich and powerful.
Diver knew he did not have a working air conditioning unit,.. he also knew they’re condition because the Walmart video surveillance showed the truck driver getting people out of the truck and ‘exchanging them to vehicles that would pull up’....additionally 200 illegal immigrants are believed to have boarded the truck with groups being “released at different spots”.....He was part of a criminal ring.
Smugglers should be summarily executed on the spot.

BTW...they could have applied for immigration or Asylum from their country as others have. They chose to take the illegal route.
As said....they could have applied for immigration with the money they paid this ‘ring’ to get them here. I just don’t buy they have it any worse than the rest of the unwed others etc. in their countries.....they get a free ride here.

Likely did since the guy worked for a trucking co. who’s truck he was using. But they won’t report this.
