Still, it was a matter of the cat protecting it’s staff.
Can’t have doggies messing with the masters staff.

A neighbor's dog stalked a little boy, then dragged him off a bicycle by a leg. The boy's cat came out of nowhere, and hit the dog with all four feet—then chased after the dog for good measure. I think the cat sized up the situation correctly from a just-opened front door.
