I do not agree with the President’s political endorsement.
If Romney gets the seat in ‘18 he’ll challenge Trump in ‘20. While in the Senate he’ll act as a replacement for Flake/Corker.

That may have been Perot’s intention, but polling data shows that Perot took more votes from Clinton than GHWB. Without Perot Clinton would have won by a majority instead of a plurality. But old myths die hard, especially when repeated endlessly but the Bushies.

(CO) Businessman Doug Robinson, a nephew of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, failed to qualify for Colorado’s Republican gubernatorial primary ballot, a state official announced Friday.
And, like his uncle, he is pissy about it.
“Secretary of State Wayne Williams said Robinson was unable to get the required signatures in the 2nd Congressional District, a liberal stronghold centered in Boulder. Robinson’s campaign said it would challenge the decision in court.”
In a close primary, the GOPeep State will find some mentally unstable "pure libertarian" to run and queer the vote. Maybe throw in a couple of Lyndon Larouchers to seal the deal.
