Ummm, I think a BB gun discharges when you pull the trigger, too.

“Florida man...”

Who honestly needs to read past that these days?

Good grief, I’m still a weapons novice and I know to keep my safety on, finger off the trigger and to ensure my weapon is cleared

Remember: remove magazine and empty the chamber before commencing any instructional lecture. It avoids embarrassment.

And even after unloading, remember that Jeff Cooper’s 4 Rules continue to apply. Fortunately, this guy had it pointing in a safe direction.

Do people really need a LOADED GUN to teach gun safety?

My thought exactly Bob. Unless they were on the range getting ready to fire, there’s absolutely no reason the gun should have been loaded. In fact, the first thing he should have done when bringing out the gun was to take out the mag and check the chamber.

LOL. I didn’t click the link but I’d bet anything its the video of that Fed agent who shoots himself in the foot while teaching gun safety to a grade school class. That one never gets old. “I’m the only one here trained to handle a weapon like this”.

Teaching gun safety

That he did, but not the way he had intended.

He was using his Sig Sauer 9 mm

You may have a hard time finding the "safety" on that weapon.

Don’t have a Sig so I can’t say. I have a Ruger

If the instructor is loaded, he should wait a few hours and sober up before handling firearms.

Most Sigs are DA/SA or DAO. The DA/SA models have a decocker. Neither has a “safety”. The Sig 1911s being one exception to that.
