A last ditch appeal to have Alfie Evans flown to hospital in Italy is now underway in Manchester as the sick tot clings to life
ALDER Hey Hospital is reportedly considering allowing Alfie Evans to leave its care to be treated at home — as his parents bid to fly him to medics in Italy.
A plane is today ready to take the 23-month-old overseas, with the family's barrister telling a judge it was an application "for common humanity and common sense".
It awaits a ruling from an emergency High Court hearing in Manchester, where doctors are now said to be considering letting little Alfie go to be with his desperate parents full time, according to reporters present in court.
But a clinician has reportedly told the judge that a "genuine fear" among hospital staff from angry demonstrators supporting Alfie's family would make the move "impossible" at present.
Alfie's parents Tom Evans and Kate James have been embroiled in a lengthy battle to have their son - who has been in a "semi-vegetative state" for more than a year - to continue getting treatment.
Doctors have argued that it is in Alfie's best interest to stop mechanical ventilation.

What crap. If they let him go the demonstrators will open up and escort the gurney out. Hopefully to a waiting charter jet to get him out of the Dead Isles.

If he’s off the ventilator and the hospital still won’t let him go, they should be charged with kidnapping or false imprisonment (or something).
Their only worry is that he’ll be taken to Italy and make a full recovery.
Or worse, they will expose fraud and malpractice.
So the protestors are angry because they want the hospital to let Alfie leave, but the hospital can't let Alfie leave because of the protestors? What is the fear? That the protestors WON'T let him leave now? The hospital makes no sense in its arguments. It seems like its advancing this argument out of pure spite to make it sound like Alfie has to die because of the protestors trying to keep him alive.
In any great Socialist “utopia” you are “owned” by the “collective” state... and the Orwellian named Court of Human “Rights”(?) decides if you are worth enough to your “owners” to live.

This is why doctors should wean people off of respirators. Patients breathing muscles get weak while on assist. If they wean, they give chance for muscles to strengthen. If just pull off, patients tend to die very quickly.
This child is a messenger. Bureaucrats leave families to their God given right to decide treatment for their children!
Ever hear of the bullet train to France? Bundle the tot up, and get the hell out of dodge. For ok France catch a train to Italy.
Or take him home, have Italian copter land in front yard and load him up. What would they do, shoot it down?
The British state owns its citizens and controls their health decisions.
Possibly what is meant is that the demonstrators will demand to leave the UK for their medical treatment too.
UK Readers out there - how difficult is it for someone to get an exit visa or whatever it is that Alfie needs?
