The most popular baby names for 2017 have been revealed: For the second consecutive year, Emma was the top name for baby girls, while Liam took the top spot for boys born last year.
Rounding out the top five for boys were Noah — last year’s top name — then William, James and Logan. Behind Emma, Olivia was the second-most-popular name for girls, followed by Ava, Isabella and Sophia.
A name from politics — Melania, spelled the same as First Lady Melania Trump — ranked fifth on the list of girl names that increased in popularity in 2017, behind Ensey, Oaklynn, Dream and Oaklyn.
President Donald Trump’s first name didn’t join his wife’s among the fast-risers. Donald ranked 488th among boys — the same as in 2016....

My 5 1/2 year old granddaughter is named Emma. She makes sure everyone knows she’s 5 1/2 , not just 5. That 1/2 is important.

True, Oaklynn might have gone from 10 kids to 20, but that's a 100% increase.
