BREAKING: UN nuclear watchdog’s chief inspector resigns without explanation

VIENNA, Austria — The chief inspector of the UN’s nuclear watchdog the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resigned Friday, a spokesperson for the agency said. No reason was given for Tero Varjoranta’s sudden departure, which comes days after US President Donald Trump took America out of the deal between Iran and world powers over its nuclear program.

There were two nuclear inspector resignations today. The UN one is viewed as a huge positive, the new guy is great.

Top State Department Nuclear Expert Announces Resignation After Trump Iran Deal Exit

One of the State Department's top experts on nuclear proliferation resigned this week after President Donald Trump announced the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, in what officials and analysts say is part of a worrying brain drain from public service generally over the past 18 months.

Richard Johnson, a career civil servant who served as acting assistant coordinator in State's Office of Iran Nuclear Implementation, had been involved in talks with countries that sought to salvage the deal in recent weeks, including Britain, France, and Germany -- an effort that ultimately failed.

I take them as "protest resignations," but these fellows may have something to hide too. As in giving a clean bill, deliberately overlooking infractions.

Amano deputy: Samples taken from Iran in line with IAEA Safeguards

Vienna, Sept 22,2015 IRAN – IAEA Deputy Director General and head of Department of Safeguards, Tero Varjoranta said on Tuesday that the environmental samples taken from Parchin military site are in line with the IAEA Safeguards Agreement.

Speaking to reporters and after releasing the statement by IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano, he said that the member states are allowed to carry out some of the duties of Safeguards under special circumstances and IAEA is always watchful that the measures would not weaken IAEA status.

Taking environmental samples is very complicated procedure which all should be fully observed, he said.

Varjoranta made clear that any halt in procedure will require the agency to retake environmental samples again, so the processing phase will go ahead immediately.
IAEA is quite confident that sampling procedures in Iran were in line with IAEA Safeguards, Varjoranta said.”

So maybe now his hijinks and looking the other way is about to be exposed.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Gravy train of bribes just ran off the tracks.

BTW, am I the only one who thinks of “Old McDonald” when hearing IAEA?

Like, is it related to EIEIO? (With and oink-oink here...etc.)
