“The pushed in face breed who have breathing problems because they have been bred for flatter faces is one such health problem.”

Our Pug lasted 16 years.

Miss him every single day.

Oddly enough, a Dobe friend just did that.

She was swabbing her mouth, the Dobe thought she had food and licked her right on the lips during the swabbing.

She’s sending it in anyway, just to see what happens.

The woman who has my Portuguese Podengo Medio’s sister ran several tests on her dog, despite us knowing it was PPM, dumped by an infamous Portuguese breeder/hunter/dumpers of dogs in the deserts of CA.

The results were hysterically bad.

Yup.

A mixed breed still inherits all the bad stuff from the pure breeds and there is no way to predict or prepare for the what health issues that will occur.

Animal rights crazies perpetuate this myth to intentionally shame people into buying mutts.

Yeah, it is really a crapshoot. Mutts can be great, but they can also be a mess. At least there is some predictability when one knows the background, mutt or pure. At least I know to expect certain problems with certain purebreds! LOL

I would like to know what it said!

You say CA? My nephew’s PPM was found in the area of his LA area home. Very strange to just find a rare breed abandoned as a puppy?

Sadly, not that uncommon at all, to find them.

PPMs are dumped often in the areas where Portuguese have settled.

Gypsy and her sister were dumped near Merced CA.

On the east coast, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are infamous for dumped Pods, although many shelters don’t recognize them for what they are call them “terrier mixes” or some such thing.

I’ll see if she still has the results and will let me share them.
