The thing about Koufax was that he tended to telegraph his pitches so batters could infer that the next pitch was a fastball or a breaking ball. Koufax would add an extra “hitch” in his windup if it was a curveball coming. Some said he also telegraphed his next pitch by the angle of his elbows when he put his hand and ball into his glove on his windup. But it didn't matter because his pitches were essentially unhittable most of the time anyway.
