when she was trying to get jobs as an actress she was turned down for parts because she was biracial.
_______
No kidding! I had no idea. Not that it matters; the woman is gorgeous. Hollywood is Hollywood; there is a lot of competition for roles
I don’t believe she was turned down for parts because of her mixed heritage. She is beautiful and had a ton of composure during the wedding. Unlike Harry, who kept wiping his face. Maybe it was hot in there, but she looked fine.
May is six months from November when they announced the engagement

That is a very short period of time for a large, fancy wedding, let alone a royal wedding.
things that make you go hmmm...
I didn’t realize she was until the msm ANNOUNCED!!! it. Her mama isn’t 100% black so it’s very much diluted (not as much as Harry’s African side). Bet a lot of people didn’t and don’t care one way or the other. You’re right, it will be played to the hilt. Manipulation, manipulation, manipulation.
American. Doesn’t check the American box.
Good one.
Manning would have been much more respectful of the event and where it was being held.
It wasn’t that fancy. Harry isn’t even the spare anymore. The choice of Windsor was a tip off. The town is less expensive and easier to secure, and it’s a company town, so the chance of serious protests was almost nil. This was less about the bride and groom than the messages The Firm was signaling. The TV ratings in the US were lower than I thought they’d be. The Windsors stepped in it again. Go figure.
Interesting. Did not know that historical tidbit. thanks!
However, on a more sarcastic note...we cannnot have people of different races falling in love with each other, now can we? Why, that would be an affront to some entity or being. /s
Except it is being said Harry actually said the S word rather than saying she was amazing when she came down the aisle and that she said the F word in the carriage. Real class there.
Judging by the mediocre TV ratings, you're right.
I’ll be a little more conspiratorial: I think the marriage is calculated to bring more “diversity” into the Royal family. Of course, Harry will never ascend to the Throne and arguably isn’t even the true son of Charles.

I grew up in the Episcopal church but I don't claim it now. Once upon a time it was the most Conservative church around and it is doing everything it can to be the most Liberal and in the process it is destroying itself. Many parishes have left, some have joined the Anglican Church, other people have simple quit and gone somewhere else.
I saw Curry's act at the wedding and he was a total idiot and embarrassment. Lord if he didn't look like comedian Garrett Morris.
Harry isnt even the spare anymore

Good point!
It must really bother him, on some level, that he has three little family members, who will take that place before he does, as far as I understand it. I guess he can understand how his dad must feel.
The royalty is an archaic organization; living a life of ease while paying the price of having your picture taken all the time.
I suspect that’s why Meghans mom looked so distraught (except for her husband’s ill health)...she must be worried her daughter will meet Princess Diana’s fate.
Three of the most beautiful women I have ever seen that were of mixed race are Judy Pace, Stacey Dash, and Vanessa Williams. They got work and are pretty good.
Her momma is pretty black and not very pretty.
And you have probably seen the photo of Melania with Harry at the Invictus Games in Canada. Melania, who was gracious enough to come to Canada to show support from America......Harry, giving the sign of the devil in the pictures. Harry and Meghan, classless squared.

Sounds like a match made in Heaven. *rolls eyes*
wow. did not know that. Harry is a military guy; I can understand it, I think (although, time and place).I think she needs to take a class from on manners from Emily Post (yeah I guess I am showing my age, LOL!)
Odd how there is a double standard like that. but there is. Ladies should be well-mannered and decorous. The shouldn’t be partying naked in Vegas, like Harry (isn’t that true)?
I’ll take it one further. She’s there to save the British Empire. Diana, who was treated like dirt by the royals, was the People’s Princess. Meghan is playing the role of Diana v.2 with all the smiles and hugs and African charities. Elizabeth may have woken up that the muslims are taking over as political leaders and may one day boot the Windsors out to the corner. With a Black American in the family, it will strengthen ties across the pond and we’re still managing to hold on to Christian beliefs. In turn, since Meghan is now a member of the Church of England, it may keep the British blacks from turning to islam. Meghan is a very small bandage for that and it won’t be long before that bandaid falls off.

Isn’t Stacey conservative? Yeah, she’s gorgeous, as is Vanessa Williams. I have her Christmas album; her rendition of Go Tell it on the Mountain is absolutely lovely and quite moving. I will have to look up Ms. Pace.
I had a head injury recently (raped, fell on concrete) and kept thinking it was almost Christmas. Now I am so many meds I can’t keep count. :) so please forgive me if have mixed up Ms. Williams with someone else.
