After the things she said and implied about 'being forced to stay in certain parts of the country', do you really think we should care one way or the other how comfortable she is is in interviews?
Honestly, I would rather watch the chrome on the rear bumper of my pickup truck turn to rust than see/hear her in an interview.
Charlize isn’t taking the kids to an inner city either. This is the woman who has talked about being terrified her newly adopted daughter was not going to survive being inside her own home afterall. I would bet a lot that she split from Penn after learning he was working on the El Chapo documentary. It is also why she is so obsessed with guns and school shootings. She has seen too many killings in real life to think differently.

Anyone who spends time willingly in the company of Sean Penn should be afraid of Sean Penn, not American Society.
She needs to get out of her comfort zone I agree. Charlize is very comfortable around Sean because they have been good friends for years, and will probably get back together after this El Chapo thing blows over, but for all her world travels unfortunately she has never traveled around this country.

I don't think she is rational enough to appreciate folks who are good but disagree with her on politics. This comes from being in the company of a miscreant like Sean Penn all this time.
Sean certainly appreciates that white Republicans who watch Fox may disagree with him but can be “as nice as can be” when talking in person because he has related those types of incidences. She doesn’t have that personally experience most likely is the difference.
