baby alfie in America
They are cutting corners. Same with the medical schools. They are not turning out doctors like they used to. There was a day when the Hippocratic Oath was sacred. A lot of things are being thrown into the trash can today.
An inordinate amount of tax dollars goes to killing nascent life, but when resources are required for these desperate corner cases, the bloated bureaucracy makes it impossible. The rotten fruits of mediocrity.
My heart goes out to the parents....but we only know a few “facts” to surmise the rest from....most Children’s Hospitals seem to be good at caring for the children....God knows and being with Him may not seem like a good idea to the parents but the children would be ecstatic in His presence...Prayers up that the children get what God would want for them.
Interesting that both cases are in Philly/PA.
And that the DM is making this an issue. Running interference for the NHS...?
Are both families American citizens?
It’s not “Obamacare”. Well, maybe these people are paying their bills using that mechanism, but it does not matter who is paying their bills.
Unless THEY are paying the hospital and the doctors with their own money, then they are asking someone else to do it. In this case, it’s probably the taxpayers of New Jersey.
And, at some point (I’m not taking a position on whether THIS is the point), someone who works for the taxpayers of New Jersey should be asking if they are getting value for money.
Do these boys meet the medical criteria for brain death?
If so, the story here is that the parents are in strong denial, not that untoward medical decisions are being made.
I think it is very important to understand the true details of each case, and not to jump on the bandwagon every time one of these situations comes up. Whenever the prolife movement jumps in on one of these cases where the medical professionals are actually correct, the anti-life ghouls use that as an example of how prolifers are kooks.
I say, don’t give anti-life radicals any ammunition. Be very clear about the nuances of the medical situation before getting riled up.
At this point, I have no information on these two boys. Hence, my question: are they medically determined to be brain dead, or is the term “brain dead” being used by ignorant reporters who have no clue that a coma is not “brain dead” but is, instead, “brain stunned.”
