Maybe they thought it was supposed to be in “Venezuela dollars”.

Of course, pre-employment background checks were made illegal by former president Obama.

[[jurors immediately left the jury box - without waiting for the judge’s permission - to hug Cheston and her mother.]]

Now the girl and mother can sue for ‘unwanted sexual contact’ by the jurors

What a bunch of morons. I’m sure the company will get right on paying that.

Like a bunch of five year-olds with no concept of the real world.

"I feel like my case is just to show that you may not get it immediately, but you will get what you're worth," Cheston said. "This shows that people do care about the worth of a woman."

Huh?

Wow.... I’d have let him rape me for $500,000,000. I guess I am a whore.

All seriousness, what security company has a billion in their account? The 15 year old will die of old age before she gets anywhere near. Maybe jury selection needs to have a little math test?

A true rainmaker.

Did the company immediately file for bankruptcy?

Looks like there won’t be much to collect

++++

Online corporate registration information for Crime Prevention Agency shows that it was dissolved in 2016. The phone at a number listed online for Mario Watts, who’s named on the corporate registration as the CEO and identified in the lawsuit as the company’s registered agent, rang unanswered Wednesday.

This is why I hate corporate bankruptcy laws and any laws that shield corporate officers and owners from direct criminal and civil responsibility.

Throw every officer of that company in prison until the sum is paid. If you own or control it, you are responsible for anything it does, be it a pitbull or a multinational company.

Your first clue would be the first name of the jury foreperson...

Lawyers: breaking more stuff to stay employed, which leads to more lawyers, who will then need to break more stuff to remain employed.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Move to pierce the corporate veil and hold this moron accountable. I’ve seen what some of these “private security” goons look like. Many I run across look like convicted felons. Yet they hold themselves out like law enforcement.

Until it’s your daughter getting raped. Then you’re standing outside the law office and 8 am waiting to talk to a lawyer.

The attack on trial lawyers has largely been funded by your friends at the Cheap Labor Express (Chamber of Commerce).

SO what assets are the basing the award on?
The company exists no more, correct?
Sounds like the defendant’s attorney was not performing due diligence. The crime is an awful one, and conclusion should not have taken so long, but $1. Billion is highly unrealistic. Why have any caps on judgement awards at all?
Why not start higher, at say $90 Trillion?
