I don’t understand that line either.

I think it's kind of along the same line of reasoning as was used by a mom of a dindu last year; her reasoning was that her son was innocent of assault against a cop because if he had actually assaulted the cop, he would have been shot by the cop, and would therefore be dead, and so the fact that her son was still drawing breath was proof of his innocence.

I excrement you not, this actually happened.
