Oh give me a break. It’s the “commoners” who look these things up. Clearly the royals didn’t have a clue about this until AFTER the wedding, so it didn’t make a difference to them. People are just interested in genealogy, that’s all. The same genealogists usually trace US presidents back to royals somewhere (hey, the royalty had LOTS of kids, illegitimate and not!) So what? All in good fun.
ALL of us are probably related to some royal over the last few thousands of years. So what?

Ummm, IF she has The Bruce as an ancestor it ISN’T on her mother’s side. So Caucasian lineage beats African. Think they’ll get into that side of the family??
