Star Wars as a franchise is dead, their next SW movie is already DOA. It will also fail at the box office and nothing will ever change unless and until all of the above characters are permanently removed from their positions of power and influence at Lucklessfilm and Lucklessfilm apologizes to their now former fan base.
Don’t forget Bob Iger as well.
So you were good with the ‘Mary Poppins’ scene, or the idea of a ‘slow speed chase’ of the rebel fleet by imperial ships with plenty of gas and light-speed capability.
You were good with Laura Dern light-speeding her way through the imperial fleet.
You were good with the anti-capitalist scene at the resort.
You were good with the ‘Force Mastery in Three Easy Lessons’ meme, or that Skywalker the Jedi Hothead decided to off the gender-ambiguous Kylo in his sleep, rather than just decide to go homo and seduce him.
It was a bad, bad movie. An extinction-level event for the franchise, and they are smart enough to know it, but not humble enough to admit they overreached in their reeducation efforts.

You did such a good job of explaining why our beloved characters are NOT MSs and why rey IS, your use of verbiage and the English language ironically make YOU a MS. Up there with James West and Paladin (and the latter got his butt kicked more often than not)!

They obviously killed off the attractive Asian pilot at the beginning, and used the short chubby sister as the hero, on purpose.
Throughout, Leia and the wise Laura Hilary Dern character were getting just about the entire alliance wiped out, ending with Leia brushing off Luke’s death and telling Rey “all we need is you girlfriend”.

Needless destruction of something that is important culturally to my generation in particular. Star Wars came in with Reagan. It was a new day. Star Trek was sort of immersive, but Star Wars was fully immersive. Can’t remember the name of the author, I think it was Mark Dean Foster who wrote all the novels that built and offshot on the Star Wars worlds.

Heh, funny you should mention Vader and his mama, considering that bit reminded me of the ending of Thumb Wars where they... well, let’s just say that they changed the infamous “I am your father” revelation to “I am your mother” and revealed Vader in a tutu.

Ummm, "someone" already did. Disney bought them from George Lucas, that's why we're in this mess to begin with. After buying it, they decided to pump out a slew of SJW themed Star Wars films.

Agreed. I think episode 9 will do a lot worse than Last Jedi. Disney has really mishandled the franchise.

I was thinking whomever would buy the franchise off of *Disney*. As bad as it is, the Chinese might make an improvement.
I’ve heard that China already gets their own alternate edits of films and has been unofficially financing some of the Marvel film production.

I heard it said that mothers later acknowledged that the stories were boring and repetitive but at least they weren’t offensive.

Give me good old rock um, sock um, uncensored, exciting, non PC Tom and Jerry, Warner Brothers and Fred Flinstone cartoons (and don't forget the Three Stooges and Abott and Costello) any day of the week.
I actually feel sorry for this whole generation of children. They have missed out on and been deprived of so much fun, joy, excitement (Johnny Quest) and adventure.
Star Wars is killing itself. Kathleen Kennedy has a blueprint laid out in front of her with the Marvel universe on how to proceed with Star Wars, yet she’s screwing it all up.
That pretty much sums it up.
