Reckless breeding got us here

No, the hunter killer instinct exhibited by pit bulls, was intentionally bred into the breed by English grain farmers, who wanted a dog that would kill off the rat popolations that were devastating their harvested goods.

Mild mannered, non aggressive pit bulls are the exception, not the rule.

That’s the terrier breed in general. The pit is an American derivative. But point made regarding origins.
