for some things it could work I don’t think it would work so well if they are leaking to the media cause if the media corrected the spelling before running the story it could ruin the trap
usually it is a small detail, like you tell one person that drugs are being smuggled by truck, then tell one by car, one by boat and by plane then if the news story says by plane you know who you gave the info to about the plane and catch the leakier
