Isn’t it more than a little insulting to “TRUE AMERICAN HEROES” to refer to someone that stuffs an enormous amount of food down his gullet as a true American hero? Especially on this day of remembrance?

While I agree that the word "hero" is grossly overused and misapplied, Independence Day is a day of celebration, and not just for solemn remembrance. We already have Memorial Day to honor those who died and Veterans Day for those who lived. Today is the birthday party for our a nation, and birthdays are happy times.
